Playing the Thinking Game

Consider Assignment One is due this Wednesday, I figured I will need to shoot my next assignment next week or so. I’ve been playing around with several ideas but haven’t decided which one yet. Here are some ideas I had planned on possibly doing:

Self Portrait
Inspired by Cindy Sherman (to an extent), I’d various shots that would show the many different sides that makes up myself. I would prolly stick with a high key white background or solid black to make sure that I am the focus and not my surroundings. As for the actually light itself, I can take two paths: either change the light to fit the mood of the emotion or keep the light static and focus more on the face and body. Different moods could include: happy, excited, angry, crying, scared, crazy, and depressed. Other ideas that could be done and fit under self portrait include: dressing up/cross dressing and back lit silhouette. Also, I think they should all be black and white.

Joker Faces
Solid black background with dramatic lighting. Shots of several different people wearing the joker make up face. I would consider it a tribute to Heath Ledger’s Joker character in THE DARK KNIGHT. People would wear black shirts so their bodies can blend into background. Full focus would be on the head and the faces they are making; hopefully, the most insane face they can make while still being sane.

Animal Shelter
Shoot images of the animals in their cages at the pound. Use the harsh, fluorescent lighting that is already found there. Focus on sadness, depression, and hopelessness. Possibly glaze over the animals eyes to add to the message.

Water
Pouring water into various glasses. Focus on stopping the action of the water falling as long with water droplets. Consider coloring the water to add interest. Solid black background to help the water stand out. Also, try different liquids such as milk to give different textures and flow.
