“Keep your feet on the ground and your thoughts at lofty heights.” -Peace Pilgram
The concept for this series has its foundations in my early photography in high school. To start off a roll of film, we would photograph our feet as to be able to tell who’s roll it belonged to if we did a group batch of film processing. While I was one that tended to forget to photograph my feet at the beginning of the roll, more often than not, there would be tons of later images that focused on my feet and what was beneath them (more often than not, merely my shadow).
Even on into my Foundations of Photography class when I first started here at Central, I was photographing my feet and my shadow. I liked the idea of capturing the places and sights I seen view my actually point of view as I was sitting down and looking and not just from the details I captured while there.
Thus, the beginning of the Beneath My Feet series….
